Modern Greek Studies Program of Macquarie University and MUGA join to honour the Greek Independence Day

Macquarie Greek Studies Foundation,  Modern Greek Studies Program of Macquarie University, and MUGA join to honour the Greek Independence Day

The President of the Macquarie Greek Studies Foundation Limited, Mr Theo Premetis, representing the Board of Directors, the Lecturer in the Modern Greek Studies Program of Macquarie University, Dr Patricia Koromvokis, and the newly elected President of the Macquarie University Greek Association MUGA, Dean Gongolidis, laid wreaths on the occasion of the Greek Independence Day at Μartin Place on Sunday, 26th of March.

His Eminence Archbishop Makarios of Australia, who was joined by Their Graces, Bishop Iakovos of Miletoupolis and Bishop Christodoulos of Magnesia, performed a memorial service for the Heroes of the Greek Revolution of 1821. The memorial service was organised by the Holy Archdiocese of Australia, the Parishes – Communities of Sydney and New South Wales, and the Greek Orthodox Community of New South Wales.
